Hiking to Doi Inthanon National Park

Excursion journee Doi Inthanon
We pick you up at your hotel at 8 am and drive for about 1 and half hours to the Doi Inthanon national park, where we will first stop at a Karen village with a coffee farm. You can see the people working, roasting coffee beans, etc… and you are offered a cup of fresh coffee. With a local guide from the Karen tribe, you start the trek which should last between 2 to 4 hours. Along the way, the guide explains and shows many different plants and trees and gives you the opportunity to taste most of them. You’ll smell camphor bark, taste cinnamon or drink some sore throat remedy dripping from a bough. You can take a rest and refresh yourself and even take a bath in a beautiful waterfall about halfway. The trek continues to a second waterfall and then to the meeting point, where the van is waiting to take you a few kilometers further for lunch. Then it’s time to go to the highest spot in Thailand (8,415 ft) where there is a Royal Thai Air Force radar station. You can take a nice walk on the AngKa Nature Trail (360 meters) through moss covered trees, where you can see orchids and rare birds.

We then go for a visit of the Twin Royal Chedis or Twin Pagodas a few kilometers down the road, built in honour of the King and the Queen. The panoramic views  and the garden are stunning. After that, we head to a Karen village where people make different clothes in a traditional way and where you can see them at work before we visit another waterfall. It’s then time to drive back to Chiang Mai, where we arrive at your hotel between 7 and 7:30pm.
